The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) welcomes and initiates those who choose to become Catholic by providing Catholic Christian formation.
RCIA is for adults who have never been baptized as a Christian, adults who have been baptized in another Christian faith and now want to be Catholic, and adults who have been baptized Catholic but never received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
There are several steps in RCIA as participants "undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments... " (USCCB).
